Sybil at the Shadow

Yeah I know I said I would stop going...but I can't stop myself when they have a Bentley's night! So I juiced up the buggy and picked up my cousin. The music was loud as usual. The men were sad as usual. But it was all worth it when she came out on stage. She sang her hits in this order:

My Love Is Guaranteed
The Love I Lost
Falling In Love
Love's Calling
Walk On By
Dont' Make Me Over

She hit every note! She was absolutely wonderful! I was in awe. Sybil has a very good voice. She talked about how she had 5 top ten hits over in Europe after her success in the states. It's terrible how real talent in the industry gets passed over because of appearance. This is the 5th Old School mini concert I've checked out at the Shadow and I have to say they have been well worth the trip.

Cheaters/ A New Poem

Cheater

I always thought we were meant to be
but once again you left me
you left me once, you left me twice
you left me a third time
but I still wish you were mine

God! I loved you with all I had
why did you have to hurt me so bad?
I was always there for you,
whenever you needed me
but I guess you didn’t see
I always thought you were the best
from all the rest
why didn’t I see
what you were doin to me?

You led me on
all along
never did I know you would break my heart
but once you did I fell apart
You left me once again
not even callin me every now and then

What did they have
that made you treat ME so bad?
Were they better in bed?
Did they give you better head?
Were they prettier than me?
What is it that you see?

Why did you leave me so far behind?
Why do you do this all the time?
No more can I take you back
You will have to stay right where you’re at
You will never get anywhere in life
and especially won’t ever have a wife
No one will ever want a cheater
No one will ever want a liar
and if they did
they’d know just who to hire

Sorry it had to end like this
I am sure you already have a backup list

New Poem "A New Valentine"

Happy V Day everybody!!!!

Ok...yes I am happy today. I'm about to go out to dinner with my new friend.

Even though he brought me all the necessary items for the occasion, the only thing he requested was a poem. I wrote one and here it is...

A New Valentine



I am the Ice Queen in the club
I tend to dance alone
For I want no man to rub
My body and begin to emit moans

I get into my groove
Countless players and fools
Try to entice me to move
With them, but I don’t lose my cool

One man continues to ask
I do not want to dance with him
But this concept he just does not grasp
I look at you and step out on a limb

You looked so inviting
Your smile so sure
I thought “This might be exciting,
Let me dance with him some more”

Your hands around my waist
We grind slow
The DJ picks up the pace
And now my name you need to know

The info exchange reveals we’re close
It almost makes us giddy
How is it possible that we are both
So near in the exact same city?

Our first jitters calmed
I start to feel your breath
As I settle into your arms
And your lips caress my neck

My nerves are on fire
I’m feeling thrilled
Are you what I desire?
Will my needs be fulfilled?

The night is done
Its over too soon
Over the horizon will come the sun
Gone for us, that lover’s moon

“Please come”, you said, “Make some time
I’ll make a wonderful dinner on that 14th day
Given a chance, I know you’ll be mine”
The ice melted and I said “...OK...”

My Car Accident

By now many of you have received an email letting you know I was involved in a car accident on 1/26/05. I am making it thru the pain and the twins were not in the car ......THANK THE LORD!!!!!

I figured I'd lay out the story for you guys as time is very limited for me to call everyone who cares about me. I'm taking 7 classes this semester:

The Greek and Latin Roots of English
Inquiry Into Education
Advanced Structural English Grammar
Observing Children and Development
Detective Fiction
The Rational Animal (Philosophy)
Publishing Books for Young Readers

So you can imagine my days are crazy with all of these classes and physical therapy everyday...and I'm still the mother of twins so......u can understand...can't u?

Anyway onto the story:

I was headed downtown to celebrate Carmella's birthday. We were going to the Wendy Williams Comedy Show. I was traveling east on 44th Street and when I reached the intersection of 11th Ave, a yellow cab came the wrong way down a one way street and ran a red light. She hit me on the right passenger side of the car and spun my car around in a 180. I was terrified because for about one minute I couldn't feel my legs. The feeling returned although I was very shaky and I was taken to Roosevelt Hospital where I spent four hours in the ER. (Nothing like on TV)

The ER doctor had a field day with my outfit.

I still have pain in my neck, back and a large lump on my left knee from the impact...but I will make it.

I am doing better now and I really do apologize for not being able to call you all sooner.

I hope your New Year is going better than mine :)
